The Human Resource Management Certificate Program at UNM's Anderson School of Management provided me with the knowledge and understanding of the requirements essential to passing the HRCI exam. Between balancing work and life, I had little time to study for the exam. The classes provide a time to focus on the material and gain specific knowledge of the testing process. Anderson School of Management Professional Development Certificate Programs was recommended to me by our corporate accountant as a way to develop my general business knowledge. As the accounting manager of a small business, I'm involved in many areas of our company in addition to the financial aspects. I began the program in 2006 with Accounting in Your Organization (Basic Accounting at that time). Not only was the information presented helpful to me in my job, I found the interaction with the other participants extremely valuable. We were given the opportunity to share both our problems and our best practices with each other as well as receive coaching from the instructor. This was also true with the other three courses I've taken so far including Essentials for Managers, Human Resource Management, and Project Management for Today's Environment.

Although my focus at work is accounting, I found that each of these courses benefited me in my job by introducing me to sound business principles in areas that affect me every day. At the end of each course I took away a group of tools that I could use on the job, a list of resources should I need more information on the topic, and a group of people (including the instructor) that I could contact if I needed help in that area in the future. I look forward to continuing to develop my business knowledge with Advertising, Promotions & Marketing Communications as well as Building Managerial Excellence and Business Ethics (Online).

This program is a valuable resource for the business community in and around Albuquerque. I continue to recommend these courses to other professionals and believe they are well worth the course fees.
